Name: Vicki

Town you live in: Aberdeenshire

How long have you been vegan? 3 years almost.

What made you decide to become vegan? I was vegetarian most of my life. And I started getting super sick in my 20s. Vomiting. Fatigue. Fainting. It was worse when I had cheese. Or milk. So I decided to become a lactofree vegetarian. But since there’s hardly any groups for that specifically I joined vegan groups and I was met by how awful the dairy industry is. And from this I decided morally I had to go vegan.

What’s your favourite place to eat out? Mono in Glasgow. Always.

What’s your favourite recipe to make at home? (Pictures are welcome!) Ooh. I only recently started cooking. I love making lasagne. Using a cauliflower based white sauce. Ask my partner and he will say Vicki’s home made pies but they’re pretty boring. Hah.

What’s your message to people considering going vegan for veganuary? Do it. Even doing it for the one month will show you a lot and teach you a lot. People have this idea that Vegans only eat salad. Which isn’t true and trying veganuary will open your eyes to a world of food you would probably never even think about.
